Thought of the week

Thought of the week: My daughter, do not cry!

Every time I celebrate a funeral and I see people crying for the one who left this world, a sadness invades my heart. And often, I go over these words of Jesus: ‘Do not cry.’ (Lk 7:13).
The story takes place in a small town called Naïn. One lady, after losing her husband, now widowed, she was left with her son, her only son. And then he also dies. Faced with this tragedy, tears streaming down her cheeks. And many wondered: why her? She had already lost her husband and now her son, her only son that they are taking to the cemetery. Why Lord? Why? That’s when the procession of Jesus arrives. When the Lord saw the widow, he felt sorry for her and said to her, ‘Don’t cry.’ Then he went up and touched the bier and the bearers stood still, and he said: ‘Young man, I tell you: get up. And the dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him to his mother’ (Lk 7: 13-15). To you too, Jesus says today, ‘Do not cry. He knows your pain, he knows why you cry and he is not indifferent to your misery. You who has lost a loved one, do not cry anymore. You whose love is betrayed, not cry anymore. You who the whole world rejects and will not accept, because of your faith, do not cry anymore. You who lives in difficult times, no more crying. You who are humbled all the time, do not cry anymore. No, really, I say to you, do not cry! God is with you. He heard your cry. He just put his hand on your suffering and what appears to be dead inside you. God loves you!
Have a good week

I love receiving the weekly news from the parish. St Charles is very special to me as it is my church that I attended all my youth till I moved away. I was so blessed to be able to attend mass when I was back in Canada and see my friends again. Wish I lived closer to attend regularly! you have a beautiful church and your priest is very special as well. I will keep you all in my prayers and hope that you will me too. Thank you very much for your nice comments on the St. Charles Borromeo website.

Unfortunately, since it is a site in both languages, and there is only one registration list, we can not separate the sending of the English version from the sending of the French version. Sorry.

It is always possible to unsubscribe from the list by clicking the unsubscribe mention at the bottom of the next newsletter.

      Kind regards
